Les pompes de Gwen Murphy

Diplômée de la Boston University College of Fine Arts, Gwen Murphy  sculpte, illustre et peint. Mais ce qui va nous intéresser chez cette artiste contemporaine "déjantée" c’est… ses chaussures !  Des créations dont le support sont des chaussures de Monsieur tout le monde. Elle utilise cendres, argile et peinture acrylique pour créer des yeux, de longs visages aux lèvres boudeuses, et donne à chaque paire un visage unique. Son concept : ranimer des chaussures qui ne sont plus portées en leur sculptant un visage, avec un côté kitsch !
